ABOUT OUR CARE STAFF
Accepting care staff into your home is a big step to make, and we understand that it can be a daunting process. Our friendly, approachable and highly experienced staff are here to help clients and their families every step of the way, providing advice, support and expertise.

Our staff are recruited locally from Leatherhead, Ashtead, Epsom and the surrounding area so they are already familiar with the communities they are serving, and undergo rigorous training to ensure our customers are in competent and safe hands.

All staff, whether they are new to the homecare industry or have worked in it previously, go through our training process to ensure they fully understand our ethos, way of working and are fully equipped to support our clients – and their families.
Before they begin home visits, staff will:

-
be checked and vetted for criminal records
-
complete a period of shadowing
-
have induction and training, and then receive regular training to ensure best possible care
-
spend time working alongside a 'care buddy' to help them fully understand our work
-
receive regular one to one supervision
-
complete theory based work books
-
be committed to achieving their Care Certificate
To provide further peace of mind for our clients, and their relatives, our staff are not key holders. When needed, they can let themselves in using secure key boxes attached to a client's property, that can only be opened with the correct code. These details, as well as information that staff hold about our care customers, are kept in the strictest confidence, as part of our confidentiality policy

As an employer we are committed to supporting our staff and providing opportunities for them to progress within the organisation. For more information about furthering your career in care - or starting it - with Tendacare, visit our recruitment page.
